​Neema foundation is a non-profit Organization based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.  It’s a registered charity organisation with registration no. NOOONGO/00004827 (Tanzania) and 76288 1712 BC0001 (Canada).   The founding of this Organization was inspired by the passing of the late Neema Edward Mkwelele. Who was the first child and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mkwelele. She lived a wonderful, exciting life although very short, and at the age 22 was ready to contribute to the world.  She was one of the few privileged girls from Tanzania and enjoyed everything. Neema accomplished a lot and her death taught her family and friends a lot. She will be remembered and her family have decided to live up to her legacy…..’a promise to Neema’.  We believe that Neema’s achievements will inspire other girls to follow her footsteps and accomplish beyond Neema’s accomplishments.  Therefore, the family has decided to use Neema’s resources to help poor and underprivileged girls to get education; at a primary education level.  

The organization’s mission and vision described by its mandate is to support the government (of the United Republic of Tanzania) and other agencies  working and giving education to Tanzanian’s children; and this organization chose to pay attention to girls and empower them to live up to their dreams by giving them basic education. It’s fundamentally important to note that the family (Neema’s family) is convinced beyond any shred of doubt that the girls reached out to will possibly follow their daughter‘s (Neema’s) footsteps.  Neema Foundation strongly believes in the power of Tanzanians, and therefore, this organization is a local non-profit and will be there for Tanzanians’ children who are of school age and should attend primary school. Neema  Foundation is going to rescue vulnerable girls from one of the rural and remote areas in the United Republic of Tanzania. The organization will provide resources to enable girls to get education, who otherwise would not have easy access to primary school education due to poverty.

Though tragic and sad her death has given these two parents the desire to do good and charity in remembrance of their late daughter.  Therefore, Neema’s legacy is a mirror and will lead the Organization throughout the process and bring change especially in making a better life for poor children in poor regions of Tanzania. These two parents hope that you shall help them in making their dream come true and make a difference.
