Neema Foundation School will adapt the Tanzanian government's education system and structure for the primary school level; according to the Ministry of Education requirements and regulations Classes (i.e. Grades) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7. Education policies for students at risk; and policy on accessible education for students with disabilities. We are very pleased to see how we are making progress and we have just wrapped up the first phase (project introduction – definition phase) and are now moving to the second phase which will take about three years. We’re also very optimistic that maybe by 2020 we will complete school buildings and might start receiving students (girls) to join Neema Foundation School (a memorial primary school and the legacy). We estimate that the capacity of the school will be 45 students in each class, and the school will continue to maintain a number of 315 girls after having all 7 classes of students each year. More work and resources are needed to achieve this goal so that we can reach out to so many poor and disabled children, especially girls.
Our plan is to handover the school to the government and remain as one of the sponsors and ambassadors of the school. "We are very optimistic that the school will be built to support rural and remote areas of Mtwara region.", Edward Mkwelele-President & Co-founder.
We are willing and/or able to do something to ensure that we make a difference; something that will make significant change in a child's life – as mentioned above we will educate nearly 315 girls each year. We are proud to be part of the process, and investing in girls’ education is so vital in African societies where girls are seen as not being important enough to educate.
*Target: To reach out; rescue and education 315 girls per year.
*45 girls per class room; including girls with disabilities.
